The Theatre Documentation Centre (CDT) and the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) have joined the Centre of Competence Impact. With these new additions , there are now 33 members in this international organization, which is dedicated to the research and development of tools for digitizing texts and historical documents.
The CDT is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and focuses on collecting, preserving materials generated by the theatrical activity, making them available to researchers and professionals. The centre currently manages a collection of more than 200,000 pictures, 5,000 DVD recordings, 500,000 press releases, 18,000 books, and other material.
The KU Leuven is the largest university in Belgium. Founded in 1425, it is internationally known for its science programmes, and for being the co-founder of the League of European Research Universities (LERU).
