The Swiss Federal Archives (SFA) have joined the Centre of Competence Impact. With the addition of this institution are already 39 members that make up this international organization dedicated to the research and development of tools for digitizing texts and historical documents.
The Swiss Federal Archives (SFA) are the Confederation’s service and competence centre for lasting information management. They appraise, secure, describe and provide access to archive-worthy records of the Swiss Confederation.
The SFA document the formation and development of the constitutional state and make state activities a matter of record: they thus make a significant contribution to constitutional legality (good governance).
This addition consolidates a project born in 2011 with the support of the European Commission, that the national libraries of Spain, France, Holland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia, Egypt and Great Britain, as well as other members prestigious as the Poznan Supercomputing Center (Poland ), the University of Salford ( UK), California Digital Library , Technologie Contentra or universities of Barcelona, Complutense of Madrid, Salamanca and Gothenburg ( Sweden).
