Tens of thousands of manuscripts, maps and plans, prints, posters, photographs, scores and sound<br \/>\nrecordings are also available. In total, more than three million digital items.<\/p>\n<p>Gallica covers all fields of knowledge: history, literature, sciences, philosophy, art history, law, economy and politics&#8230; Its collections offer one of the most important documentary resources<br \/>\navailable on line.<\/p>\n<h3>A collective digital library<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2818 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/digitisation.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/btv1b9017720x-300x238.jpeg\" alt=\"btv1b9017720x\" width=\"300\" height=\"238\" \/>The major part of documents available via Gallica come from the BnF\u2019s royalty-free heritage collections; however, the number of documents coming from its numerous partner institutions \u2013 several hundred libraries and publishers &#8211; is growing more and more every day.<\/p>\n<h3>A mobile application for Gallica<\/h3>\n<p>Gallica is also mobile! The Gallica application for tablets and smartphones can be downloaded for free on the App Store and Google Play.
