The schema can be found on the website of the The Library of Congress at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/standards\/alto\/v3\/alto-3-1.xsd\">http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/standards\/alto\/v3\/alto-3-1.xsd<\/a> and on Github at <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.rawgit.com\/altoxml\/schema\/master\/v3\/alto-3-1.xsd\">https:\/\/cdn.rawgit.com\/altoxml\/schema\/master\/v3\/alto-3-1.xsd<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Summary of changes from ALTO draft schema version 3.1:<\/p>\n<p>Added support for using different shapes for the elements String, TextLine, all PageSpaceType elements and on all BlockType elements.<br \/>\nThe description of the attribute ROTATION is changed to the rotation of the contents of a block and not the block itself.
