The Succeed Awards winners collected them during\u00a0 a ceremony at Digitisation Days<\/a>, last 20th of May in Madrid.Francis Ballesteros, director of Impact, welcomed people to the Succeed Awards Ceremony, that took place last 20th of May in the National Library of Spain<\/a> (Madrid).<\/p>\n The Succeed Awards<\/a> recognise and foster excellence in\u00a0digitisation, especially among programs\u00a0focused on historical text and its jury was formed ofMilagros de Corral, who coordinated the jury’s tasks; Jill Cousins, from Europeana<\/a>; Michael Keller, from Stanford University<\/a>; Steven Krauwer, from Utrecht University<\/a>; Frank Frischmuth, from the German Digital Library<\/a>; and Andrew Prescott, from the King’s College, London.<\/a><\/p>\n Hildelies Balk, Chair of the Impact CoC Executive Board, presented the first Commendation of Merit to The London Metropolitan Archives<\/a> \u2013 University College London; and Rafael Carrasco,\u00a0 coordinator of the Succeed project, give the second one to Tecnil\u00f3gica<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Succeed Awards, two exaequo, were presented by Milagros del Corral,\u00a0International Organisations advisor, to Hill Museum & Manuscript Library<\/a>; and by Jos\u00e9 Manuel Moreno, from Banco de Santander Universidades, to the Centre d’\u00c9tudes Sup\u00e9rieures<\/a>.<\/p>\n Finally, after all the Awards had been presented, some very special guests spoke on the stage: Manuel Palomar, President of the University of Alicante<\/a>; Giuseppe Abamonte, General Director of Media and Data from European Commission<\/a>, and Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel Prize of Literature and President of the Foundation Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes<\/a>.<\/p>\n The ceremony was closed by Spanish Secretary of Estate for Culture,\u00a0 Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Lassalle.<\/p>\n[cvm_video id=”2021″]\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
