De Functional Extension Parser (FEP) is een IMPACT tool voor structurele annotatie van documenten, ontwikkeld door de Universiteit van Innsbruck (UIBK). Er is een regelset gebouwd om bijvoorbeeld paginanummer’s, koptitels en voetnoten te kunnen identificeren. Ook kan de tool de bedrukte tekstgedeelten herkennen of een gelinkte inhoudsopgave maken, wat handig is voor het produceren van ebooks.<\/p>\n
De FEP wordt beschikbaar gesteld als commerciele service door UIBK en ook als standaard web service.<\/p>\n

The Functional Extension Parser (FEP) is\u00a0an IMPACT tool for structural annotation of documents, developed by the Universityof Innsbruck (UIBK). The FEP has a rule set for the identification of features like page numbers, headings and footnotes. The tool can also recognise the print space and create a linked table of contents, which is very useful for producing\u00a0ebooks.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0FEP will be made available by UIBK as both\u00a0a commercial service and a standard web service.<\/p>\n
