EC Public Consultation on Europeana

Impact Centre of CompetenceEU News, News

The Commission has launched a public consultation on Europeana, the European online platform, to hear the opinions from citizens and organisations with a personal or professional interest in digital culture available online. We wish to know how citizens, professionals and organisations use the platform that gives access to over 53 million items including image, text, sound, video and 3D material from the collections of over 3,700 libraries, archives, museums, galleries and audio-visual collections across Europe.

Europeana can be used by professionals in cultural institutions and creative fields, researchers, teachers, students and everyone interested in digital culture. Moreover, the openly licenced material can be re-used for digital applications or products through the platform’s APIs, in creative designs, services or applications by both amateur and professional arts, crafts and technological practitioners. The public consultation will contribute to the evaluation of Europeana and will help direct its future development.

Please share your views by responding to the survey, in any of the EU official languages: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/europeana

Please share also the questionnaire with your personal and professional networks and anyone who has an interest in online cultural heritage!

The public consultation will be open until 14 January 2018.
